Flaws

I was getting ready today and thinking about what I am thankful for.  There is a lot that God has given me, but sometimes I am not grateful.  One of the major things that I have always despised about my appearance is my nose.  Since I was young I remember disliking my nose.  I always thought it was a piggy nose.  Now that I have a daughter, I have come to love my nose.  It's the same nose God gave to my beautiful little girl.  How could I not love it???  If I were to change it now, she and I would no longer share that similarity.

I used to want hair that I didn't have to dry and straighten every day; it would just dry stick straight all on its own.  Now I love that I have hair that can do many things.  I actually would NOT like it if my hair was stick straight now.

I used to not like my curvy body.  All the girls in my class were very slim and trim.  I always had muscle.  I was a cheerleader and had a cheerleader's body.  Now I think how grateful I am that I was able to carry and birth children.  I know my body isn't perfect, but I married a man that cares more about my inside than my outside.

I guess I just want to thank God for what he gave me.  I am fearfully and wonderfully made... and I am grateful!!!

  2. Beautifully said. I have always felt that way about my eyes. My daughter has the same big, dark brown eyes that I have. I never liked brown eyes till I saw hers change to brown when she was an infant. It's a great way to think before trying to change your body, God loves us and made us in his image, we are beautiful to him. We are beautiful just the way we are.

  3. Beautiful post!! So important to remember that God made us just the way He wants us- in HIS image- and that He doesn't make mistakes or overlook anything. :)
