Shepherding a Child's Heart

I recently finished this book by Tedd Tripp.  It was eye-opening to hear his perspective on parenting.  Some of his basic ideas are that to be a biblical parent, you must care more about what is happening in the child's heart, and less on how their behavior looks to the outside world.
In other words, what is happening externally is a direct reflection of the obedience, or rebellion, of the heart.  Christian parenting takes a great deal of time, effort, and discipline.

I recommend this book to any parent, or about to be parent.  It gives you a biblical viewpoint on what God wants from us as parents.  If we are to be obedient to God, we must parent our kids the way he calls us to.
