I love Christmas, and I love peppermint patties. With that being said, Christmas time is when I make my homemade peppermint patties. If you like patties… stay tuned and check out this simple recipe!
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 9 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons shortening
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and extract until smooth. Gradually add confectioners’ sugar, beating well.
Roll into balls and place on parchment paper (on cookie sheet) and refrigerate for several hours.
Once chilled, flatten the patties and refrigerate for a few more hours.
Now comes the fun part…
Melt your chocolates and crisco until nice and creamy.
Dip your patties in and place back on parchment paper to firm up.
Refrigerate until ready to eat.
