Every year, we have a baking day in our home where the kids join me in the kitchen and we fill Christmas cookie boxes with soft Christmas cookies and other fun treats. This is something we all look forward to and I do a few things to help make it an enjoyable experience.

The idea of baking dozens of cookies around Christmas time stretches back to the time of The Great Depression.

Prepare for Baking Day

- Pick recipes -Have baking supplies -Get cookie boxes -Make dough ahead of time

How to Freeze Cookie Dough Balls

- Make cookie dough - Roll into 1 inch balls - Flash freeze on a cookie sheet - Put in a ziploc with the temperature needed and time needed for baking.

Packaging for Cookies

Tuck baked cookies in a cookie box or pretty bag tied up with string.

Deliver Cookies

If you have family close, invite them over or go visit them to spread the cheer!
