Equipment

  • saucepan

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ½ scoop vanilla whey protein powder optional
  • 1 yellow sliced banana
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Bring milk to slow boil over medium-high heat in a saucepan.
  • Once the milk is heated through, add in the maple syrup and oats. Stir to combine. Put the lid on the saucepan and turn the heat off.
  • Allow the oats to slowly cook and absorb the milk, which will soften the oats.
  • While the oats cook, whip up your whipped cream by mixing the heavy cream in a stand mixer on medium-high speed until stiff peeks form.
  • Once the porridge is the consistency you're wanting, add in the protein powder and stir.
  • Top with sliced banana, nuts, and whipped cream. Serve immediately.
