Cuisine American
- 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- ½ scoop vanilla whey protein powder optional
- 1 yellow sliced banana
- ¼ cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup heavy cream
Bring milk to slow boil over medium-high heat in a saucepan.
Once the milk is heated through, add in the maple syrup and oats. Stir to combine. Put the lid on the saucepan and turn the heat off.
Allow the oats to slowly cook and absorb the milk, which will soften the oats.
While the oats cook, whip up your whipped cream by mixing the heavy cream in a stand mixer on medium-high speed until stiff peeks form.
Once the porridge is the consistency you're wanting, add in the protein powder and stir.
Top with sliced banana, nuts, and whipped cream. Serve immediately.
