- 3 cups diced apples
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup grapes, halved
- ½ cup chopped walnuts, or toasted chopped walnuts
- ½ cup homemade whipped cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Cut up your fruit and celery and toss it into a large mixing bowl.
In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, homemade whipped cream, sugar, and salt. Whip the ingredients together well.
Pour the dressing over the chopped fruits and celery and mix well.
Sprinkle the chopped walnuts over the salad and serve on a bed of romaine.
Be sure to have the crunchiest apples. That goes for any of the fruit. The enjoyment of this simple dish is that the fruit is crunchy and flavorful.
If you aren’t going to eat the whole salad in one sitting, drizzle the dressing over the salad you are eating and reserve the rest for later to keep it extra fresh.
