4tablespoonsbutter,for searing and buttering bread
Instructions
Slice and season the ribeye with salt, pepper, & garlic powder. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes before cooking.
Add 2 tablespoons to a preheated skillet. Add the steak and sear it for 2-3 minutes on each side or until no longer pink.
Move the steak to the outside of the pan and add your onion. Let them sauté until caramelized. Turn the heat off.
Turn on your broiler in your oven. Slice the hoagies as you would a hot dog bun and butter the inside with the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
Put them on a cookie sheet and allow them to toast for a few minutes under the boiler. Keep a good eye on them so they don't burn.
Once toasted, add meat and a layer of cheese on top.
Broil again until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

How to reheat leftover Cheesesteak Sandwiches
Stovetop- In a pan, heat the sandwich filling of steak and onions with a little bit of water covered until hot. Melt cheese over top before dishing your cheesesteak filling into your hoagie bun or bread.
Oven- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees, wrap your leftover cheesesteaks in aluminum foil, and bake on a tray in the oven for 20-25 minutes. This is the preferred method for retaining a crispy and juicy cheesesteak sandwich.
