Equipment

  • 1 electric mixer
  • 3 standard loaf pans

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 3 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • cup honey
  • 3 cups bread flour, may sub all purpose
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add in your warm water, quick rise yeast and sugar. Stir well. Let it sit for a few minutes until the yeast is bubbly.
  • Pour into your electric mixer and stir in your honey, melted salted butter and salt. Mix well. Add in 7 cups flour (4 of all purpose and 3 of bread flour) and mix until incorporated.
  • Mix for 2-3 minutes in your electric mixer or knead by hand.Cover with a tea towel or plastic wrap until the dough has doubled in size.
  • Dump the dough onto a floured surface and divide it into 3 parts. Form it into loaves and place then into greased bread pans.
  • Cover again with a towel and let them rise once more. They should almost double in size (around an hour).
  • Bake the bread in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • Use fresh yeast: Using fresh yeast will help your bread rise properly and give it a nice, fluffy texture. Make sure to check the expiration date on your yeast before using it.
