Lasagna is an Italian dish full of savory goodness that is typically served with French bread and lots of garlic butter.

However, my lasagna garlic bread is a twist on that popular meal, and my family just loves it!

Serve it at your next holiday party, or as a main dish for supper; it’s really yummy for leftovers the next day as well!

This pasta dish often becomes a go-to meal because it is so delicious, but also very filling, and can serve a lot of people.

Traditional lasagna is a one-pot dish that consists of layers of lasagna noodles, marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and herbs.

Lasagna garlic bread is lasagna noodles, meat sauce, and mozzarella cheese all layered inside of hollowed out bread loaves and baked to a golden brown bubbly goodness!

  • Lasagna Noodle Sheets- Lasagna wouldn’t be lasagna without the noodle sheets!
  • Ground Beef- You will brown the ground beef before baking.
  • Pasta Sauce- Use an entire jar of spaghetti sauce or the equivalent amount of homemade sauce.
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese- Melted mozzarella makes the recipe the best!
  • Italian Seasoning- Italian seasoning is what elevates the flavor of the recipe.
  • Dried Parsley- Parsley has an herbal, earthy, almost peppery flavor.
  • Black Pepper- Pepper tastes good on everything!
  • Melted Butter- The melted butter is combined with the garlic powder, then you brush dough with the mixture.

  1. Prepare the bread- While the oven preheats, hollow out the center of the top of the bread. In a small bowl prepare the garlic butter. After you melt butter and add garlic, brush the inside of your bread loaves with the garlic butter.
  2. Layer the lasagna ingredients- Layer the lasagna noodles inside the bread. Then combine the ground beef, pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, dried parsley, and black pepper in a medium bowl and mix. Then layer this mixture on top of the lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of cheese. Keep. repeating the layers until the bread is stuffed full with lasagna goodness!
  3. Bake- Bake the lasagna garlic bread on a baking sheet for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly. Enjoy!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 French bread loaves
  • 6 lasagna noodle sheets cooked al dente
  • 1 lb ground beef browned
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • ½ tsp garlic butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Take your loaves of bread and hollow out the center of the top.
  • In a small bowl, combine your melted butter and garlic powder and mix.
  • Brush the inside of your bread loaves with the garlic butter.
  • I add one layer of your lasagna noodles to the inside of the bread.
  • Next, combine your ground beef, pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, dried parsley, and black pepper in a medium size bowl and mix. Spoon some of your meat mixture into your bread loaves.
  • On top of the meat, add some of your mozzarella cheese, followed by another layer of lasagna noodles.
  • Add more meat on top of your lasagna noodles, followed by cheese, and another layer of lasagna noodles.
  • Finally, add meat and cheese to your lasagna stuffed garlic bread.
  • Bake your lasagna garlic bread for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly.
