Pepperoni Pizza Rollups Recipe
Pepperoni Pizza Rolls
Equipment
- 1 9 x 13 baking dish or baking sheet
Ingredients
- 1 package refrigerated pizza dough, or homemade
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 package pepperonis
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- Roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface. Roll it to about 1/3 inch thick. You want it to bake through, so don't keep the dough too thick.
- Spread the pizza sauce all over the surface of the crust. Do a thin coating of sauce.
- Add a generous layer of shredded mozzarella cheese to the sauce.
- Top with pepperonis, or other toppings of your choice, and roll it tightly like cinnamon rolls.
- You want to roll it length-wise so you have a long log. Start at one long side and roll the pizza dough until you reach the other long end.
- Slice the pizza log into 1 inch slices and place in your prepared pan. I like to use a sharp serrated knife for this since it can be difficult to cut the pepperonis. Cut slowly and hold your dough log together with your free hand.
- Place in your preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the rolls are cooked through.
Delicious! I made these today with leftover Easter ham, shredded mozzarella, and homemade sauerkraut, served with a 1000 Island sauce. Yummm! I called them “Kind of Reuben Rollups” and my husband thought I should add “Supreme” somewhere to the name lol Thank you for the yummy, easy recipe!
